PLAY.SCAPE is the result of my love for landscape and cartography combined with my love for games. My graduation research was about how people saw, and see, the world with a focus on cartography and art. This research led me to today, where we see the world mostly on a screen. I decided to start a journey around the world inside Google Earth and created a database of all kinds of beautiful landscapes and patterns I came across.
With all this data I wanted to create a modular landscape with which people could create the world as they thought it should be.
PLAY.SCAPE consists of 100 abstracted pieces of our world made from lasercut acrylic glass and woolfelt.
